Shiftend

Case studies

Real restaurants, real numbers.

We backtested Shiftend on a live Toronto independent restaurant — eighteen months of POS, payroll, and reservation data — before we ever shipped a paid customer. The first public case study lands the moment its consent does.

Pending consentCase study #1

First case study — name and numbers withheld until the operator gives written consent to publish.

The structure below is the template every Shiftend case study follows. We don't ship a case study without all four sections filled with real, attributable numbers and a quote from the operator.

Before

Five tools, three spreadsheets, two browser tabs that wouldn't load on the office iPad. Labour cost was last week's number, the prime cost arrived monthly from the accountant, and the pre-shift was a group chat.

What changed

Shiftend ingested 18 months of Silverware exports and Push payroll. Pre-shift moved to the dashboard. Cert tracker caught two near-lapses in week one. Forecasting trained on the historical data and the GM started using the daily revenue prediction by week three.

Numbers

Labour % held against budget for the first time in six quarters. Prime cost ticked down — straddle splits stopped double-counting. Forecast MAPE stayed under [X]% on a walk-forward backtest. Onboarding time for new hires dropped from [Y] hours to [Z].

Quote

"Quote from the operator goes here. Direct, attributable, and signed off in writing — including which numbers can be published with the name attached."

The standard

Why the bar matters.

Most SaaS case studies are five paragraphs of vendor-side hype with one greenwashed quote. Restaurant operators see through it instantly. Shiftend's standard is simple: every number is attributable, every quote is signed, every detail is checkable. If we can't prove it, we don't print it.

Real numbers, attributable, signed off in writing.

Restaurant named publicly, on operator's decision, never ours.

No greenwashing. We publish the misses too if the operator wants them in.
